En el debate
monetario y cambiario actual en la Argentina aparecen escasas referencias
a los sistemas de meta inflacionaria y de meta monetaria, que se están
aplicando exitosamente en otras economías. Por esta razón, este trabajo
preliminar considera la teoría y la experiencia internacional reciente
de estos sistemas para un conjunto de países. Finalmente, se ensaya una
comparación del sistema de meta inflacionaria con nuestro actual régimen
de convertibilidad y se extraen algunas conclusiones relevantes, para
pensar, sin mayores ambiciones, sobre el régimen monetario y cambiario
más conveniente para la Argentina en el futuro.

In
the present debate about the monetary and exchange rate regimes in Argentina
there are few references to the systems of inflation targeting and monetary
targeting, that are being implemented successfully in other economies. For
this reason, this preliminary paper considers the theory and recent international
experience of these systems in a group of countries. Finally, there is an
attempt to compare the system of inflation targeting with our convertibility
regime and some relevant conclusions are obtained, to think, without major
ambitions, about the more convenient monetary and exchange rate regime for
Argentina in the future. |
